July 2016 Program

Here’s what’s planned for July’s Guild meetings — something for everyone!

All About Sweaters
All knitters at some time or another either knit a sweater or pledge to make one some day.  Join us in July when we welcome guest speaker Sharlene Goings for a program All About Sweaters. She’ll give an overview of different types of sweaters, how they’re constructed (i.e., what makes them different), and where to start for a first-time sweater knitter.  If you’ve made a sweater already, wear one to the meeting!  This program is sure to appeal to both advanced and novice sweater knitters.

Sharlene is one of the knitting blog pioneers behind The Yarniacs podcast (http://yarniacs.blogspot.com/), one of the most popular podcasts in the craft universe.  And many of us know Sharlene from her work at The Swift Stitch where she helps us find just the right yarn for our projects and also teaches some great classes.  We’re excited to have her with us for this interesting and practical program.

Kickoff of 2016 KAL
In July we kick-off our 2016 Knit-Along:  The Multnomah Shawl (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/multnomah).  We’ll have details and copies of the pattern available at the meetings in July.

Show and Share:  Finished UFOs
In January, we launched our UFO challenge:  Finish one of your unfinished projects by July.  Well, now’s the time to show it off.  Bring in your now FOs to share at the July meetings.

Lots going on this summer!  Looking forward to seeing everyone at one of the meetings in July!

The NIGHT MEETING will be on Tuesday evening, July 12, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Fireside Room at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 2500 Soquel Ave.
