Most of us are probably aware of the knitting traditions in Europe, but did you know that the knitting diaspora extends into the Andean mountains of Peru? Join us for an overview of Peruvian knitting with Maggie Morales, who travelled to Peru in 2013 for an international conference and workshop focused on the fiber arts of the Andes.
We’ll show selections from *Andean Knitting*, a DVD produced by Interweave which features a discussion of traditions, techniques, and tools that make Peruvian knitting so unique.
Then Maggie will share with us photos from her trip and samples from the classes she took during the conference. She’ll also have samples of hand-knit products that she collected during her stay.
Join us for a fascinating travelogue in the world of knitting! The meeting will also feature our usual business and announcements and will end with the popular round of show and share.
