Party time is coming! Mark your calendar now, so you won’t miss the fun!
WHO: all members of the Knitting Guild of Santa Cruz
WHEN: December 14 (Tuesday)
WHAT TIME: 6:00 p.m. (maybe a bit earlier if you need set-up time)
WHERE: the Fireside Room of the Community Church at 411 Roxas Street in Santa Cruz (same as the regular night meeting venue). There’s plenty of room in the parking lot, and the Fireside Room opens directly to the lot for easy access.
If you need a ride, please reply to the list or contact a member who lives near you!
This is the one time during the year that day and night meeting folks have a chance to gather at the same time, both to visit and to conduct business. So do wear your nametag; it’s fun to put names and faces together.
Bring a yummy dish (or beverage) to share and something to serve it with; please put your name on your serving utensils. (Will your item need salt, pepper, other condiments, a wine or bottle opener, a cutting board, a knife, hot pads, a trivet or an extension cord? If you bring that along, you’ll know it’s available.) As you consider the logistics of whatever you plan to bring, please remember we *don’t* have use of the church kitchen –no stove, no sink for water — and you may want to bring paper towels and/or dish towels, in case of spills. A nice touch would be a little card with a description of your dish and the cook’s name. 🙂
Bring your own knives, forks & spoons. Rumor has it we might need extra tablecloths; if you have one handy, that might be a good thing to pop in the car, just in case. . .
If you’d like to participate in the gift exchange (it’s voluntary), bring a wrapped, knitting related present — this can be from your own stash or not. Re-gifting is entirely acceptable.
If your afghan square is ready to turn in, bring it along. And, as mentioned in the fall newsletter, the holidays are a perfect time to remember those in need and who are ill. If you are able, please make a
chemo cap and bring it to the party. Also consider making a toy or a gift for someone less fortunate and bring that too; we will find it a home. There is so much need in the world today that whatever our group can do will be very welcome.
Bring your knitting, party on, and have a wonderful holiday season!
