October 2010 Meeting

How often do you see a pattern that you’d love to make up . . . but in an entirely different yarn? Or maybe you have some great yarn on hand, and you need to make a pattern work with it? This month’s programs will focus on substituting yarns, and will be presented by Julie at the evening meeting, and by Kathy at the day meeting.

There’s no homework associated with these programs, but there are a few items to bring to the meeting . . .

Here’s what Julie says:

Learn the basic principles of yarn weights and gauge, and the importance of swatching, especially when substituting yarn in a pattern. Please bring some swatches from your previous projects, or make up a few swatches from scrap yarn in your stash. Please bring a ruler or tape measure, a calculator, and paper & a pen.
